Times are changing as sex toys are becoming more common in the bedrooms of couples. It doesn't seem too long ago that sex toys were seen by most as a product for single men and women. That's great news but we've noticed a trend with couples just concentrating on specific type of products mainly due to the rising popularity of online sex toy stores.
The Sex Toys for Couples Category
Our issue isn't really with online sex toy stores as they are categorizing products as best they can. Even we have a sex toys for couples category because of the difficulty of categorization. The issue we have is that having this category blinds many couples from the mass of great toys in other categories.
As good as some of the products are like the We-Vibe 3 and the Lelo Bo please please please do not be limited by this category! Usually this category is filled with cock rings, strap on harnesses and position enhancers which are great in their own right but if you just concentrate on this category you're seriously missing out.
I love the thought of using a sex toys like the Autoblow 2, Tenga Flip Hole or the Vixskin Spur on my boyfriend. The same goes for women; my guy really likes using rabbits, dildos, g-spot massagers and anal toys on me. These amazing products shouldn't be left out, but unfortunately time and time they do thanks to categorization.
This is a major plus point with high street stores have as they don't really need to categorize products (especially the smaller stores). Couples tend to walk around the entire store allowing them to at least glance at the entire range.
What We Propose
Now this is the difficult one. We're not going to ask online sex toy stores to remove the couples category. Like we said before we even have a couples category ourselves. This category serves a purpose and is very useful and feel it would have a negative impact.
The main thing we want and probably the main reason why we created this post (other than to rant) is to encourage more couples to explore out the confines of the good but restrictive couples sex toys category.
Another thing that could be done is we would love online stores or manufacturers to encourage couples to explore the other categories more. This could be either done by blog posts or graphics to include the other sex in their advertisments. For example an image showing a pleased woman holding a Tenga Flip Hole after a hot session with their man. We feel this imagery could encourage couples to explore more.
It seems we may have ranted quite a bit in this article but this subject we feel is quite an important one. Again we don't dislike couples sex toys it's the category that makes couples think that's the only section for them. We also do not propose deleting this important category (confusing I know) *Rant Over*
